Internet Book Fair BLOGFEST!

Hey everyone.  I don't know if there is anyone out there doing this already, but I am wondering if we can have ourselves an old fashion book fair.

I am sure most of you remember the book fairs that we had in school.  You know, they bring huge book stores on wheels and sell as many books as they possibly can in a few days.

In our digital age, there is no reason that we can't and shouldn't have ourselves a good old fashion book fair to let everyone and anyone we know about our books.  If you're interested, sign up below and spread the word.  The more books we have to talk about, the better.

We will schedule the Book Fair for 10-25-2011.  Please enter below and on the day of the book fair write a post describing your book, give links to where it can be bought, enter reviews you've received on Goodreads and other sites, and anything else you can think is relevant.

Make sure you sign up, tell people about it, and on Book fair day get out there and meet new books and authors.

GRAB THE HTML FOR THE BUTTON ABOVE AND ADD IT TO YOUR LINK.

  2. Good idea to try and get bloggers with books all gathered in one place.

  3. My new book won't quite be out yet for this, but I was planning on doing a post about all the new releases this fall from indie publishers. Maybe that would fit well with this?

  4. Thank you for the opportunity! Would love to participate!

  5. @Dianne I think that this should be fun and as long as we get a good showing, there should be a great opportunity to read some books and authors that you've never heard of.

@LG Thanks for the support and thanks for the Retweet.

@Susan I think that you should use this to promote your new book too. There is no reason that you can't promote a book on this that is about to come out. I think that your book is perfect for this.

@Elk Thanks for participating. The more people that participate, the more fun this will be.

  6. Thanks MA! I'll find a way to work a mention of Open Minds in there. :)

  7. This looks awesome, what a great idea!

  8. @Katie We can't wait until the 25th and we get to learn about a whole new group of authors that we've never heard of.

P.S. To All. We have a 9 year old that just got a Kindle and he is looking for new books to read. Add them to the list and let us know about them too. There is no age limit on the book fair.

  10. Thanks for letting me know about this blogfest! I don't post on Tuesdays though, so would have to work around that...

  11. I love the idea of this! Unfortunately my blog is booked. :( I wonder it this won't turn into a monthly or quarterly thing. I definitely want to participate in the next one. Thank you for inviting Bona Fide Reflections.

  12. @Donna, thanks for joining in.

@Alex, Even if you can't join us on the post day, check out all of the books that come up on the list. You never know, one of us might find our next favorite author.

@Bona Fide We want to see how this one does, if everyone likes it, and if we can get the word out. But if it works then doing it more than once would work great.

  14. What a fabulous idea! Here's a link to my site: http://www.shelleybuck.com. From the menu bar, you can link to an excerpt from my travel memoir, FLOATING POINT, or to my blog, ePicaro.com. ePicaro features excerpts of travel narratives by mostly West Coast writers (fiction and non-fiction). Looking forward to Oct. 25!

  15. @Nancy Thanks for spreading the word

@Lori Thanks, hopefully this one is a success and we can do it again.

@Shelley Thanks for the link, we will check it out.

  16. Thanks so much for another opportunity to meet more new authors. My website is http://www.bettydravis.com

I hope I filled the other link in correctly; it's the one that leads to my Amazon post of one of my books. Is that what you want?

I copied the info needed on October 25th. Now all I have to do is remember the date. :-)

    Hugs - Betty Dravis

  17. Great idea. Thanks. And, oh, 9 year olds with kindles are just the folks I'm aiming to reach with my fantasy e-book series headquartered at http://bekkaofthorns.com

  18. This is a great idea, guys. I'm putting this up on my blog as we speak.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Betty You can link it up however you want. We linked it up to the blog so that we can write a synopsis, provide links to goodreads, and the other places to buy the books. But however you want to do it works for us.

@Steve Cam is at the Giants game today, but we will have him check it out later or tomorrow. Thanks for letting us know about your series.

@Jay Thanks Jay. Hopefully we have a great event.

  20. What a good idea. Is it okay if we mention more than one book?

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Janet You can mention as many books as you want. We are going to post about our two books.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh wow! Could you make this a yearly event? (We don't have our book ready yet) :P

    That'd be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm signed up, but I'm taking this a step further - I'll be highlighting my book, but also the rush of Fall Indie Authors I know (just a title/line/cover/buy link). Should be an epic post! But fun, fun. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Ermiliablog We don't know how often we will do this, but so far the interest has been there and this is going to be a do again.

@Susan I can't wait to see the post and check out all of the books. Thanks, this is exactly what we want this event to be. People meeting people meeting books.

  28. I plan to participate, but I'm a techno-idiot and hope I don't mess up. The HTML you posted should be added to my blog, right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Cheryl Thanks

@Elle I am glad that the word is getting out there and you are joining us.

    @Jessica Thanks and welcome.

@Janet If you add the HTML on as a side bar, in open HTML, it will come up as a button and people can click on it and find the event. If you just want to add a link on the day of the blogfest, that's fine too. We just want to make sure that everyone can find you and your books and back to find more books.

Thank you everyone who has joined us so far. This is starting to get some momentum. Please continue to get the word out and don't forget to join us on the 25th!

    @JL Thanks for joining us!

@Cherie The list is starting to get really long. We should have a great deal of books to choose from.

@Johanna Thanks, hopefully if we get the word out there the list will grow.

  39. This is a great idea! I just signed up to participate. I used to love Book Fairs and I hope this one will generate a lot of sales for all of us.:) Thank you M.A. Leslie for the idea and the generous offering to us.

  40. This sounds like a great idea but what genres/age groups are you accepting?

Do you allow more than one submission? My Fireborn Chronicles(Psionic sci fi:the inevitable fusion of man, machine & the paranormal) has two books out and one awaiting an editor from MuseItUp Publishing.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Francine We will have to check it out.

@Charlie Let us know when you do it too and we will join you for yours.

@Mary We are accepting books from every genre and there is no limit to the number of books you can promote.

  42. What a lovely idea, promotion is always a minefield for writers, so thank you for the opportunity.

  43. This is such a great idea! I don't have a book to sell (yet), but I know several of the authors represented. I'll be glad to help publicize.

  47. This is a terrific idea and I am thrilled to be a part of it - but, like an idiot, I posted the wrong link. So please forgive me, I am re-posting that book again (Hostage Heart). And I see we can promote more than one book, so I will place a post on each of my blogs. Thanks for this terrific opportunity!

  51. Salvatore, Make sure that you create the blog post on your blog tomorrow. At the bottom of the post, add the button HTML and once people are done reading about your book they can come back and read about other people's books from the list.

  58. What a great idea! I stumbled upon this via Twitter just in time. I'm currently preparing my first novel, Big Leagues, for publication. It's going to be released December 1 in print and e-book and it's currently available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Big Leagues is the first in my Foul Ball Mystery Series, featuring Cat McDaniel, a rookie sportswriter who finds herself at the plate in a deadly game of hardball.
